GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education has funds available to support professional development activities of its members. The following guidelines and procedures have been developed to make the distribution of funds as equitable as possible.
DECISION-MAKING PROCEDURE
1. All applications for funds must be received by March 5, 2010. Requests for retroactive reimbursement for activities prior to January 1, 2010 will not be considered. All projects must be completed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010.
2. A Professional Development Committee will review all applications. This Committee will meet one week following the deadline for applications, and will recommend which applications should receive funds. The Committee will keep records of its activities, including copies of applications and anecdotal record of how each decision was reached.
3. The Executive Board of MWPHE will award a total of four (3) Professional Development Awards in the amount of $1,000 each to our membership. At least one winner will be selected from each sector: University, State College, and Community College.
4. Based on the applications received, the committee reserves the right to award the funds to the most appropriate submissions, which may at times consist of more than one award to a particular sector (i.e. two awards to the community college sector and one to the university sector).
