Greetings from the MWPHE President

Debra Ferullo, 2011-2012

As we begin our 30 year Celebration of Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education, I feel privileged and honored to serve as your President. This academic year should prove to be an exciting one for our membership as we celebrate 30 years of professional development opportunities for women in Massachusetts public higher education.
We received notification that MWPHE, Inc. is now an official 501(c) (3) non-profit public charity on May 5, 2011. This is an important accomplishment, and will lead to greater opportunities for our organization. Our goal is to further fundraising and philanthropic efforts in order to continue providing scholarships and professional development opportunities to women students, staff, and faculty in public higher education in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I am thankful to have had the support of our Executive Board during this process.
Please save the date for our next Annual Conference which will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Spinelli’s in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. The theme will be “Toxic Behavior in the Workplace” with a keynote address by Suzanne V. Benoit, LCSW, SPHR. I look forward to meeting you and leading our organization in what will be a very exciting year and we welcome your ideas and comments regarding future events.

The task of the Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education (MWPHE) is to strengthen the status of women as professionals and to enhance the quality of public higher education.

Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education, Inc. (MWPHE) is a non-profit organization open to women administrators, as well as to those women who aspire to administrative positions in public higher education in Massachusetts. The organization establishes an information and support network, enhances professional development, encourages and promotes upward mobility, and addresses issues affecting Massachusetts public higher education and the status of women within the system.
